Customs and freight (Australia)

Early access for Australian importers, customs brokers and forwarders who keep consignment files of invoices, transport documents, declarations and permits; join the waitlist.

Where the time goes

  • A consignment file has many documents from many parties
  • References and values are re-keyed between documents
  • Permits and certificates carry expiry dates that are easy to miss
  • Documents arrive as scans and photos

What is in the early-access pack

The customs and freight pack is available to early-access customers. Document types cover commercial invoices, packing lists, transport documents (ocean bills of lading, air waybills, delivery orders and arrival notices), Australian import declaration data, release notices and duty and GST statements, origin evidence such as certificates of origin, supplier declarations and free trade agreement statements, biosecurity documents (import permits and treatment certificates), and freight, insurance and port charge documents.

Starter schemas extract fields such as invoice number, seller, buyer, shipment reference, country of origin, tariff code as printed, Incoterms, goods description, totals, container and seal numbers, ports, importer ABN, customs value, duty and GST amounts as printed, permit numbers and expiry dates. Cross-document indexes cover shipment reference, invoice number, transport reference, declaration number, importer, seller, tariff code, country of origin, transport mode, agreement named, permit kind and expiry date. Smart folders group files into sea freight, air freight, ANZCERTA statements, CPTPP statements, treatment certificates and import permits.

What is still being confirmed

Early-access packs are built from public form and agency guidance; some details are still being checked and may change. They have not been validated on production customer documents, and forms and fields will be confirmed with early-access customers. Reviewers compare documents using the extracted data and search; the pack does not check a file for completeness or compare documents automatically. Where your forms are not covered, your team can define additional schemas.

Where people stay in the loop

Each extracted field has a model-reported confidence score (not calibrated). When you turn on Human in the Loop for an upload, processing pauses at the steps you choose so a person can check the source document and correct the data before it continues. Documents that match no schema are flagged. The pack reports what is printed; it does not classify goods, calculate duty or lodge declarations. Key actions are written to an audit log.

Questions we hear

Is there an Australian customs pack?
Yes, in early access. It ships document types, starter schemas, cross-document indexes, sample questions and smart folders for consignment files. It has not been validated on production customer documents.
Does it classify goods or calculate duty?
No. Tariff codes, values, duty and GST are reported as printed on the documents. Classification, calculation and lodgement stay with you or your broker.
Which free trade agreements does it recognise?
It has a field for the agreement named on a document and folders for ANZCERTA and CPTPP statements. Requirements vary by agreement, and the pack does not decide whether goods qualify.
What does early access mean?
We are opening Australia gradually. Join the waitlist and we will contact you about fit, scope and timing. Features and availability may change. Early access: not yet validated on Australian documents with customers.
Where does AI processing run?
Data location can be agreed in an Order Form on Private and Enterprise plans; where AI processing runs is disclosed before you sign. Document text is processed by an AI service.
